Approximately 32 million Americans, including 5.6 million children, suffer with food allergies.
Every three minutes, a food allergy reaction sends someone to an emergency room.  In relation, an emergency room visit for food-related anaphylaxis occurs every six minutes.  Although immunotherapy offers a promise for treatment, there is currently no cure for food allergies.

Because food allergies can be life-threatening, it is important to raise awareness and understanding of the issue, which is why I will be introducing a resolution to recognize May 14-20, 2023, as Food Allergy Awareness Week in Pennsylvania.
Please join me in advocating for those affected by food allergies in our Commonwealth.
