In the near future, I am planning on re-introducing legislation that will amend Title 75 to allow multipurpose agricultural vehicles (MAVs) to travel up to 10 miles on highways between farms and fields for the purpose of performing agricultural activities.

Farmers can use MAVs, typically referred to as ATVs and side-by-side vehicles, to move between farms and fields up to five miles from their home farms. However, farms are becoming more spread out, so the current distance limitations might not allow farmers to be able to use these types of vehicles to reach all of their farm fields. MAVs are often the most convenient vehicle for a farmer to use when traveling—especially given their off-road capability. MAVs are the only vehicle of these types that are allowed on public highways. My legislation will not impact any other ATV or side-by-side usage by non-farmers.

This legislation is supported by the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, and I hope you will join me in supporting this important legislation.
