In the coming days, I plan to re-introduce legislation to reinforce parents’ rights to make decisions regarding the education and upbringing of their children. This legislation will:

- Prohibit classroom instruction on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten through 5th grade
- Require classroom instruction be age appropriate
- Require public schools to adopt procedures for notifying parents if there is a change in services from the school regarding a child’s mental, emotional or physical health or well-being.

It is imperative that we ensure that parents have the right to be informed about the services offered to their children at school, and that elementary school children are protected from inappropriate sexual content in our classrooms.

As similar legislation is signed into law in other states, it is time to take similar steps in Pennsylvania to ensure that parents, first and foremost, have the right to make decisions regarding the upbringing of their children.

Please join me in cosponsoring this important legislation.
