This bill amends sections of the Oklahoma Statutes related to the certification of behavioral health case managers and peer recovery support specialists. It introduces uniformity in the rules and standards for certification, including criteria for certification and renewal, minimum education requirements, examination and supervision requirements, continuing education requirements, and rules of professional conduct. The amendments specify that behavioral health case managers and peer recovery support specialists can be employed by the state, municipalities, counties, behavioral services providers, tribes, or facilities associated with the Oklahoma or United States Departments of Veterans Affairs.

Key changes include the insertion of language that allows for employment by municipalities and organizations certified by the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for both case managers and peer recovery support specialists. Additionally, the bill establishes a certification fee of no more than $100 and outlines that failure to comply with the Board's rules can lead to revocation, suspension, or nonrenewal of certification. The act is set to become effective on November 1, 2026.
