This bill amends the statewide student assessment system in Oklahoma by aligning it with federal minimum assessment requirements and eliminating certain assessment mandates. Specifically, it removes the requirement for multiple assessments in subjects such as reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as the U.S. History assessment for high school students. The bill clarifies that school districts cannot impose additional assessments beyond those required by the state, thereby streamlining the assessment process for students in grades three through twelve.

Additionally, the bill mandates that the State Board of Education report annually on the demographics of students eligible for and placed in advanced mathematics courses, as well as those in intervention courses. This aims to ensure that all students receive appropriate instruction in mathematics. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026, and includes an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
