This bill amends Section 1722 of Title 21 of the Oklahoma Statutes, which addresses the unlawful taking of crude oil, gasoline, and related materials. The amendments specify that individuals who unlawfully take these products or necessary equipment with the intent to deprive the owner will face penalties based on the value of the items taken. If the value is less than $1,000, the offense is classified as a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of up to $500 or up to 60 days in jail. If the value is $1,000 or more, it is classified as a Class C2 felony, with penalties including forfeiture of the crime's instrumentality, fines ranging from $100 to $50,000, and imprisonment for one to ten years.

Additionally, the bill introduces new provisions that impose felony charges on individuals who cause environmental damage exceeding $2,500 as a direct result of taking such products. The amendments also expand the definition of materials involved in these offenses to include pipes, fittings, and pumps, while removing the term "other" from the list of necessary materials. The bill is set to take effect on November 1, 2026.
