This bill amends Section 1210.704 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes, focusing on advanced placement (AP) courses in public high schools. Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, all public high schools are required to offer a minimum of four AP courses and ensure that all high school students have access to these courses through various means, including local school sites, technology centers, online programs, or other districts. Additionally, the bill mandates that each public school district must make AP examinations available to any student residing in the district and post relevant information about the examinations, including dates and registration procedures, on their websites by August 31 each year.

Furthermore, the Statewide Charter School Board is tasked with maintaining an online learning platform that provides high-quality online learning opportunities, particularly in STEM, foreign languages, and AP courses, which will be accessible to all students in Oklahoma. The State Department of Education is also required to provide information to school boards about the enrollment process for AP courses and the benefits of these courses for students' postsecondary education. The bill is set to take effect on July 1, 2026, and includes an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
