Specifically, it applies to municipal governing bodies, zoning commissions, boards of adjustment, planning commissions, and regional planning commissions, as well as county commissioners, planning commissions, and metropolitan area planning commissions. The description must clearly state the location and purpose of the proposed change, along with any additional information deemed necessary by the respective clerks.

The new legal provisions will be codified as Section 43-117 of Title 11 for municipal bodies and Section 867.3 of Title 19 for county bodies. This legislation aims to enhance transparency and public awareness regarding zoning changes by ensuring that relevant details are consistently documented in meeting records. The act is set to take effect on November 1, 2026.
