This bill establishes new legal provisions regarding the representation of county law libraries in Oklahoma. It mandates that county law libraries, along with their boards of trustees and employees, receive legal representation at no cost from the district attorney of the respective district for any legal matters related to their official duties or operations.

In cases where the district attorney has a conflict of interest and is unable to provide representation, the bill allows the Office of the Attorney General to step in and offer legal representation without charge. The bill is set to take effect on November 1, 2026, and will be codified as Section 1228 of Title 20 in the Oklahoma Statutes.
