This bill establishes a new requirement for elected county officials in Oklahoma to maintain their principal residence within their jurisdiction and occupy it for at least eighty percent of their term. It specifies that failure to meet this requirement will be considered a dereliction of duty, allowing county commissioners and district attorneys to initiate removal proceedings against noncompliant officials. The term "principal residence" is defined in accordance with existing law.

The bill will be codified as Section 131.2 of Title 19 in the Oklahoma Statutes and is set to take effect on November 1, 2026.
