This applies specifically to surgeries conducted in operating rooms, including ambulatory surgical centers, for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

Additionally, the bill requires the Authority to establish a reasonable reimbursement rate that reflects the actual costs of providing these services, and it stipulates that all contracted entities must reimburse claims at no less than this established rate. The act is set to take effect on July 1, 2026, and includes an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
