The Compassionate Access to Medical Marijuana Act establishes guidelines for the use of medical marijuana in health care facilities for terminally ill patients in Oklahoma. The bill mandates that licensed health care facilities allow terminally ill patients, who possess a valid medical marijuana license, to use medical marijuana, while prohibiting smoking or vaping. Facilities are required to document the use of medical marijuana in patient records, restrict storage methods to ensure safety, and develop written guidelines for its use. However, the act does not apply to patients receiving emergency services and care.

Additionally, the bill clarifies that compliance with this section is not a condition for obtaining or renewing a health care facility's license. It also provides that if a federal agency takes enforcement action or issues a rule against the use of medical marijuana, the facility may suspend compliance with the act until further notice. The act is set to take effect on November 1, 2026.
