This bill establishes a new law in Oklahoma that prohibits elected or appointed public officials from being required to sign nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) related to their official duties if the agreements pertain to projects that would significantly impact the jurisdiction where they operate. The bill defines "significant impact" as any project that would affect utility infrastructure, such as electrical power or water, for at least 10% of the residents in the area.
Additionally, the bill clarifies that the prohibition on NDAs does not apply to agreements related to personal matters or litigation that do not involve the official's duties. The new law is set to be codified as Section 401 of Title 51 in the Oklahoma Statutes and will take effect on November 1, 2026.
