This bill amends Rule 2.31 of the Rules of the Ethics Commission to modify the regulations surrounding contributions to political parties. It allows contributions from
corporations, labor unions, limited liability companies, and partnerships and increases the contribution limit from
Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to
One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) per calendar year. The bill also updates references to federal election activity, changing the citation from
2 U.S.C. Section 431(20) to
52 U.S.C., Section 30101 and from
2 U.S.C. Section 441i to
52 U.S.C., Section 30125.
Additionally, the bill repeals several existing laws and rules that pertain to contributions by corporations, labor unions, limited liability companies, and partnerships, specifically repealing 21 O.S. 2021, Section 187.2 and Rules 2.23, 2.24, and 2.25 of the Ethics Commission. The effective date for this act is set for January 1, 2027.
