This bill amends the Massage Therapy Practice Act by establishing an Oversight Committee on Massage Therapy, which will assist the State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering in reviewing formal complaints and professional standard violations. The committee will consist of three to five members selected by the existing Advisory Board on Massage Therapy and will serve four-year terms. Its duties include establishing a formal complaint and investigation process, making recommendations for disciplinary actions, providing annual training on sexual harassment and professional conduct standards, and any other necessary duties to uphold professional standards.

Additionally, the bill modifies the existing structure by deleting the previous section labeled "D" and replacing it with the new provisions for the Oversight Committee. The fee structure for massage therapy licenses remains unchanged, with a fee of $25 for licenses issued between the effective date of the act and May 1, 2017, and a renewal fee of $50 for licenses issued after that date. The act is set to become effective on November 1, 2025.
