Bill No. 1077 amends Section 7-602 of Title 29 of the Oklahoma Statutes, which governs the transportation of wildlife. The bill introduces several exceptions to the existing prohibitions on shipping or transporting wildlife, including provisions for dead fish or wildlife taken by licensed hunters or fishermen, processed rough fish products, and rough fish taken by licensed commercial fishermen with a special permit from the Director of Wildlife Conservation. Additionally, it allows for the transportation of lawfully bred or propagated wildlife, wildlife with specific written authority from the Director, farmed cervidae, and deceased intact cervidae in transit to a taxidermist.

The bill also clarifies that owners or operators of commercially licensed hunting facilities can transport cervidae between in-state facilities without needing a permit. Furthermore, it updates the penalties for violations of this section, removing the specific mention of the fine amount while maintaining the range of fines and potential imprisonment. The act is set to take effect on November 1, 2025.
