The Streamlined Services Act aims to create a unified eligibility and enrollment system within the Oklahoma Department of Human Services to enhance access to various social services for residents. The Act outlines the Department's responsibility to coordinate with other state agencies and community partners, conduct a feasibility study for integrating additional programs, and develop an integrated access system that allows individuals to apply for and manage benefits across multiple programs, including SNAP, TANF, and Medicaid. The system is designed to be user-friendly, secure, and accessible, ensuring compliance with privacy laws while promoting efficiency and coordination of services.
To implement this initiative, the Department of Human Services is required to issue a request for proposals for the development of the integrated access system within six months of the Act's effective date and to launch the system for public use within one year. The Department will also provide progress updates to the Governor and the Legislature every six months until the system is fully operational. The Act is set to take effect on July 1, 2025, and includes an emergency clause for immediate implementation upon passage and approval.
