Bill No. 831 amends existing laws regarding compensation for members of the State Election Board and county election boards in Oklahoma. Specifically, it increases the per diem compensation for State Election Board members from $50 to $75 for meetings related to conducting hearings required by law, and from $35 to $75 for other meetings. Additionally, the bill raises the per diem for the chair and vice-chair of each county election board from $35 to $75 for each meeting. Both groups will continue to receive mileage reimbursement as per the State Travel Reimbursement Act.

The bill also stipulates that the State Election Board will cover these per diem and mileage reimbursements, except for meetings that are chargeable to other governmental units, and limits the reimbursement to a maximum of forty meetings per fiscal year. The effective date for these changes is set for November 1, 2025.
