This bill establishes new regulations for campaign and election materials sent via mail to voters in Oklahoma. It mandates that any such materials, which are not official documents from government election bodies, must include a disclaimer stating, "This piece of mail is not an official government document from the State of Oklahoma or any subdivision of this state," in a minimum font size of fourteen. The bill defines campaign or election material to include mail that encourages voters to apply for absentee ballots or reminds them of election dates.
Additionally, the bill imposes a fine of one hundred dollars for each unique mailer campaign that fails to include the required disclaimer, with the fine increasing to three hundred dollars for third-time offenders. The Oklahoma Ethics Commission is designated to enforce these provisions and is granted rule-making authority to implement the law. The act is set to take effect on November 1, 2025.
