The bill, known as Senate Bill No. 607, amends the Oklahoma Evidence Code to establish the admissibility of certain statements made by victims of domestic abuse in legal proceedings. Specifically, it allows statements that narrate, describe, report, or explain incidents of domestic abuse to be admissible in pre-trial or post-trial criminal and juvenile delinquent prosecutions. These statements must be made by the victim to a law enforcement officer within one week of the incident, included in an application for a protective order within the same timeframe, or given as testimony at a hearing regarding the protective order.

The new legal provision will be codified as Section 2803.3 of Title 12 in the Oklahoma Statutes, unless there is a duplication in numbering. The bill is set to take effect on November 1, 2025, following its passage in the Senate on March 10, 2025.
