To qualify for this reimbursement, individuals must be enrolled in the state Medicaid program, admitted as inpatients, no longer require acute inpatient care, need nursing facility level care upon discharge, and either be unable to transfer to a nursing facility due to a lack of available beds or require a guardian that has not yet been appointed by the court.

Additionally, the bill stipulates that reimbursement for these services is contingent upon federal approval, and the Authority is directed to seek the necessary federal approvals to implement these provisions.
