This bill establishes new requirements for health benefit plans in Oklahoma regarding coverage for contraceptive drugs. It defines "contraceptive drugs" as those approved by the FDA for pregnancy prevention and outlines that any health benefit plan offered, issued, or renewed after the effective date must provide coverage for a three-month supply of a contraceptive drug upon the first request and a six-month supply for subsequent requests. However, enrollees are limited to obtaining only one six-month supply during each six-month period. The bill also clarifies that enrollees can request smaller supplies if deemed appropriate by a prescribing provider.
Additionally, the bill specifies that it does not mandate coverage for medications intended to terminate an existing pregnancy. The new provisions will be codified as Section 6060.3b of Title 36 in the Oklahoma Statutes and will take effect on November 1, 2025.
