This bill establishes new requirements for health benefit plans in Oklahoma regarding coverage for contraceptive drugs. It defines "contraceptive drugs" as those approved by the FDA for pregnancy prevention and outlines that any health benefit plan offered, issued, or renewed after the effective date must provide coverage for a three-month supply of a contraceptive drug upon the first request and a six-month supply for subsequent requests. However, enrollees are limited to obtaining only one six-month supply of a covered prescription drug within each six-month period. The bill also clarifies that enrollees can request smaller supplies if deemed appropriate by a prescribing provider.

Additionally, the bill specifies that it does not require coverage for medications that could terminate an existing pregnancy. The new law will be codified as Section 6060.3b of Title 36 in the Oklahoma Statutes and is set to take effect on November 1, 2025.
