7 A Resolution relating to the protection of the
7 property and supplies of the Senate and duties of the
8 President Pro Tempore during the 2024 legislative
8 interim; authorizing employment of necessary
9 personnel; restricting use of Senate offices and
9 Senate Chamber during the interim except with the
10 consent of the President Pro Tempore; authorizing
10 needed repairs to space in the Capitol under the
11 control of the Senate and purchase of needed
11 furnishings and equipment therefor; authorizing
12 President Pro Tempore to appoint members of the
12 Senate to interim committees; authorizing President
13 Pro Tempore to approve claims for reimbursement
13 incurred by members and employees of the Senate
14 during the interim; and providing for cumulative
14 powers.

17 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA

18 LEGISLATURE:

19 SECTION 1. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
19
20 hire necessary employees to conduct the business and protect the
20
21 property of the Senate during the 2024 legislative interim.
21
22 SECTION 2. No private organization, state executive agency or
22
23 department, or the employees thereof shall be permitted to use the
23

 1 Senate Chamber, meeting rooms, or offices during the interim without

2 the consent of the President Pro Tempore.

3 SECTION 3. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
3
4 provide for needed repairs and renovations to space in the Capitol
4
5 under the control of the Senate including the Senate Chamber,
5
6 offices, equipment, and furnishings in such space, and to purchase
6
7 needed equipment, supplies, furniture, furnishings, and fixtures for
7
8 such space, and to approve claims therefor.

9 SECTION 4. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
9
10 appoint members of the Senate to interim committees.

11 SECTION 5. The President Pro Tempore is hereby authorized to
11
12 approve claims of members and employees of the Senate for
12
13 reimbursement of expenses incurred while engaged in official
13
14 business during the interim as directed by the President Pro Tempore
14
15 according to law.

16 SECTION 6. The powers herein conferred shall be in addition to
16
17 and not in substitution for any other power conferred by law or
17
18 rule.
