 7                               AS INTRODUCED

 8          A Resolution recognizing May 6 through May 12 as
 8          Teacher Appreciation Week; celebrating the work of
 9          teachers in Oklahoma.

12        WHEREAS, an effective system of education for all students is
12
13   essential to our democratic system of government; and
13
14        WHEREAS, the United States of America and the State of Oklahoma
14
15   have made considerable progress in social, technological, and
15
16   scientific fields due to our system of education; and
16
17        WHEREAS, much of this progress can be attributed to dedicated
17
18   and hard-working teachers who are entrusted with the educational
18
19   development of our children; and
19
20        WHEREAS, teachers should be held with high esteem, as they
20
21   reflect the value our community places on education; and
21
22        WHEREAS, teachers hold an important role nationwide, as they
22
23   are significant factors in shaping children and youth; and

 1        WHEREAS, teachers are deserving of recognition for their
 1
 2   tireless efforts and their commitment to educating students.
 2
 3        NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
 3
 4   OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
 4
 5        THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives supports Teacher
 5
 6   Appreciation Week, recognizes the significant contributions of
 6
 7   teachers to the children and youth of Oklahoma, and encourages the
 7
 8   citizens of Oklahoma to observe Teacher Appreciation Week and honor
 8
 9   teachers for their service to our state and nation.
