7 AS INTRODUCED
8 A Resolution advocating for amending the Oklahoma
Constitution to require proof of citizenship for
9 voter registration.

12 WHEREAS, the House of Representatives recognizes the importance
13 of protecting the integrity of the electoral process; and
14 WHEREAS, ensuring that only eligible citizens exercise their
15 right to vote is fundamental to maintaining the integrity of
16 elections; and
17 WHEREAS, the current provisions of the Oklahoma Constitution do
18 not explicitly require proof of citizenship for voter registration;
19 and
20 WHEREAS, requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration
21 aligns with the principles of fair and transparent elections; and
22 WHEREAS, numerous other states have already implemented similar
23 requirements to safeguard the electoral process;

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
2 OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
3 THAT the House of Representatives supports amending the Oklahoma
4 Constitution to require proof of citizenship as a prerequisite for
5 voter registration.
