6 AS INTRODUCED

7 A Resolution to raise awareness for grandparents'
7 visitation rights; and recognizing that grandparents
8 are integral to their grandchildren's lives.

11 WHEREAS, grandparents hold an important role in children's
11
12 lives; and
12
13 WHEREAS, the value that grandparents bring to their families is
13
14 immeasurable; and
14
15 WHEREAS, Oklahoma law realizes the importance of grandparents in
15
16 their grandchildren's lives; and
16
17 WHEREAS, recognizing that many grandparents are currently
17
18 helping raise their grandchildren; and
18
19 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 109.4 of Title 43 of the Oklahoma
19
20 Statutes, Oklahoma law allows for grandparents to petition for
20
21 visitation rights with their grandchildren.

22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

23 OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
