 7            A Resolution memorializing the 29th anniversary of
 7            the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

10         WHEREAS, at 9:02 a.m. on April 19, 1995, Oklahoma City was
10
11   struck by the worst act of domestic terrorism in United States
11
12   history with the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building;
12
13   and
13
14         WHEREAS, one hundred sixty-eight died, including nineteen
14
15   children.    Additionally, three of the women killed were pregnant.
15
16   The dead also included three state employees and one first
16
17   responder.   Hundreds more men, women, and children were injured; and
17
18         WHEREAS, the names of the victims include:

21   Memorial’s Gates of Time:     “We come here to remember those who were

22   killed, those who survived and those changed forever.     May all who

23   leave here know the impact of violence.     May this memorial offer
23
24   comfort, strength, peace, hope and serenity.”

 1       NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE 2ND SESSION
 1
 2   OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
 2
 3       THAT the Oklahoma State Senate remembers those who were killed,
 3
 4   honors the survivors, thanks the heroic first responders, and urges
 4
 5   continued healing for all on this 29th anniversary.
