8 A Resolution designating April 16, 2024, as Oklahoma
8 Agriculture Day; and directing distribution.

11 WHEREAS, agriculture is one of Oklahoma's leading industries and
11
12 its associated production, processing, and marketing segments
12
13 together provide a major source of employment for the state's
13
14 workforce; and
14
15 WHEREAS, agriculture serves all Oklahomans and Americans by
15
16 providing food, fiber, and other basic necessities of life; and
16
17 WHEREAS, the performance of the agriculture economy is vital to
17
18 maintaining the strength of our state economy, the standard of
18
19 living for our citizens and our presence in world trade markets; and
19
20 WHEREAS, it is important that all Oklahomans should understand
20
21 the role that agriculture plays in their lives and well-being,
21
22 whether they live in urban or rural areas.

23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

24 OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

 1 THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives hereby proclaims
1
2 Tuesday, April 16, 2024, as Oklahoma Agriculture Day.

3 THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives will join efforts
3
4 with agricultural organizations throughout the State of Oklahoma to
4
5 continue recognizing and supporting agriculture.
5
6 THAT copies of this resolution be distributed to the Oklahoma
6
7 Secretary and Commissioner of Agriculture.
