7 A Resolution commemorating the 78th Southern
Legislative Conference of the Council of State
8 Governments Southern Office.

11 WHEREAS, the Council of State Governments Southern Office
12 (CSG South) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit member organization that
13 serves the southern legislatures of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida,
14 Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North
15 Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia,
16 and West Virginia; and
17 WHEREAS, with regionally based state leadership and
18 perspective, and national-level resources, CSG South provides
19 southern legislators and government staff with a wide variety of
20 programs and services that facilitate regional cooperation and
21 encourage the exchange of information; and
22 WHEREAS, in pursuit of this mission, CSG South has convened
23 the Southern Legislative Conference (SLC) for the past 77 years,
24 with decades of fellowship and cooperation between the Southern

1 states, the 78th Southern Legislative Conference will convene in
2 White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia at The Greenbrier from July
3 21-25, 2024; and
4 WHEREAS, more than 1,500 Southern legislators, government
5 staff, and their families will gather to discuss policy matters
6 specifically affecting Southern states to bridge commonalities
7 and discuss solutions for current policy trends, challenges, and
8 opportunities.
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
10 OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 59TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
11 THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives commends the
12 Council of State Governments Southern Office and welcomes all
13 legislative, executive, and judicial officials of our great
14 State of Oklahoma to attend the Southern Legislative Conference
15 in West Virginia this year.
