7 An Act relating to crimes and punishments; making
7 certain acts unlawful; providing penalties; providing
8 for codification; and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 650.12 of Title 21, unless there
14
15 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15
16 Any person who enters, without permission, the check stand area
16
17 at a retail establishment and, without justifiable or excusable
17
18 cause, commits any battery or assault and battery upon an employee
18
19 of said retail establishment while such employee is in the
19
20 performance of his or her duties shall, upon conviction, be guilty
20
21 of a felony punishable by a term of imprisonment in the custody of
21
22 the department of Corrections for a term not exceeding two (2)
22
23 years, or by a fine not exceeding Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars
23
24 ($2,500.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment.

1 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
