7 An Act relating to alcoholic beverages; prohibiting
7 the requirement for license holders to check
8 identification cards; clarifying that selling or
8 providing alcoholic beverages to persons under twenty
9 one years of age is prohibited; providing for
9 codification; and providing an effective date.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
14
15 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 2-163 of Title 37A, unless there
15
16 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

17 Holders of a license issued by the Oklahoma Alcoholic Beverage
17
18 Laws Enforcement Commission pursuant to Title 37A of the Oklahoma
18
19 Statutes shall not be required by state law, administrative rule, or
19
20 regulation from checking identification (ID) cards prior to selling
20
21 or serving alcoholic beverages to a person. A license holder upon
21
22 their discretion may still choose to check and verify a person's ID
22
23 prior to selling or serving a person an alcoholic beverage.

 1 Nothing in this section shall absolve the license holder from
1
2 the prohibition of selling or serving alcoholic beverages to a
2
3 person under twenty-one (21)years of age.

4 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
