7 An Act relating to virtual charter schools;
7 prohibiting eligibility for alternative education
8 state funding if certain requirements are not met;
8 providing for codification; providing an effective
9 date; and declaring an emergency.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3-145.11 of Title 70, unless
14
15 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
15
16 Any statewide virtual charter school that does not meet the
16
17 requirements for an alternative school, alternative education
17
18 program, or alternative academy pursuant to Sections 1210.567 and
18
19 1210.568 of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes and pursuant to any
19
20 administrative rules shall not be eligible to receive state funding
20
21 for alternative education.

22 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2024.
22
23 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
23
24 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby

1 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and

2 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
