7 An Act relating to revenue and taxation; creating
7 sales tax free weekend for rifle ammunition before
8 deer gun hunting season; providing for codification;
8 and providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
13
14 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1357.11 of Title 68, unless
14
15 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

16 A. The sale of rifle firearm ammunition designed to be used in
16
17 connection with hunting deer shall be exempt from the tax imposed by
17
18 Section 1354 of Title 68 of the Oklahoma Statutes if:
18
19 1. The sales price of the article is less than One Hundred
19
20 Dollars ($100.00); and
20
21 2. The sale takes place during the period beginning at 12:01
21
22 a.m. on the Friday before deer gun season is to begin, as determined
22
23 by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, and ending at
23

 1 12 midnight on the following Sunday, covering a period of three (3)

2 days.

3 B. The Oklahoma Tax Commission shall promulgate any necessary
3
4 rules to implement the provisions of this section.

5 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective September 1, 2024.
