7 An Act relating to fireworks; amending 68 O.S. 2021,
7 Section 1624, which relates to the prohibition of
8 certain fireworks; making certain exception for
8 state-license outdoor display operators; and
9 providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 68 O.S. 2021, Section 1624, is
13
14 amended to read as follows:

15 Section 1624. A. From and Except for state-licensed outdoor
15
16 display operators, after July 5, 1981, the sale, gift, distribution
16
17 or use of skyrockets with sticks as defined by the United States
17
18 Consumer Product Safety Commission is hereby prohibited within the
18
19 State of Oklahoma. This prohibition shall include, but is not
19
20 limited to, explosive devices commonly known as "bottlerockets"
20
21 "bottle rockets" or "stickrockets" "stick rockets". Distribution,
21
22 gift or sale from Oklahoma to a person outside the State of Oklahoma
22
23 shall not be considered as occurring within the State of Oklahoma.

 1 B. Any and all items of Consumer Fireworks not properly labeled
1
2 according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission
2
3 and identified with the appropriate United States Department of
3
4 Transportation markings is prohibited under the provisions of
4
5 Section 1621 et seq. of this title.

6 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
