7 An Act relating to motor vehicles; amending 47 O.S.
2021, Section 6-122, as amended by Section 62,
8 Chapter 282, O.S.L. 2022 (47 O.S. Supp. 2023, Section
6-122), which relates to renewal by mail; requiring
9 online renewal include selection of licensed
operator; requiring certain transaction notification
10 be sent; and providing an effective date.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
14 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 47 O.S. 2021, Section 6-122, as
15 amended by Section 62, Chapter 282, O.S.L. 2022 (47 O.S. Supp. 2023,
16 Section 6-122), is amended to read as follows:
17 Section 6-122. Service Oklahoma may develop procedures whereby
18 driver licenses issued under the provisions of Section 6-101 et seq.
19 of this title may be renewed or replaced by the applicant by mail or
20 online except for licenses to be renewed or replaced by aliens as
21 prescribed by subsection E of Section 6-115 of this title. The
22 online driver license renewal system shall include a step where the
23 person renewing shall select any licensed operator in the state to
24 complete the processing of their driver license renewal. Following

1 selection by a person renewing, the licensed operator shall be sent
2 notification of the pending web transaction. Any license issued
3 pursuant to this section shall be valid for a period as prescribed
4 in Section 6-115 of this title. Service Oklahoma shall not renew or
5 replace a license by mail or online unless the immediately preceding
6 issuance, renewal or replacement was done in person by the
7 applicant.
8 Provided, any person or the spouse or dependent of a person:
9 1. Who is on active duty with the Armed Forces of the United
10 States; or
11 2. Who is currently employed as a civilian contractor with the
12 Armed Forces of the United States,
13 living outside of Oklahoma and having a valid Class D driver license
14 issued by the State of Oklahoma, requiring no material change, may
15 apply for no more than three consecutive renewals or replacement of
16 such license by mail or online, in accordance with Service Oklahoma
17 rules. A fourth consecutive renewal or replacement must be done in
18 person.
19 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
