6 An Act relating to long-term care; directing the
6 State Department of Health to develop standards for
7 and approve training programs for certification of
7 intermediate care facilities for individuals with
8 intellectual disabilities (ICF/IID) care aides;
8 requiring training programs to meet certain
9 requirements; directing the Department to offer a
9 training program that meets certain standards;
10 authorizing certain contract and fees; providing for
10 codification; and providing an effective date.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

14 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
14
15 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-1950.3a of Title 63, unless
15
16 there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:

17 The State Department of Health shall:
17
18 1. Develop standards and approve training programs for
18
19 certification of intermediate care facilities for individuals with
19
20 intellectual disabilities (ICF/IID) care aides. Each training
20
21 program shall meet all requirements prescribed by rules promulgated
21
22 by the State Commissioner of Health; and
22
23 2. Offer a training program for certification of ICF/IID care
23
24 aides that meets the standards prescribed under paragraph 1 of this

1 section. The Department may contract with a third-party vendor to

2 provide the training program. The Department may charge reasonable
2
3 fees for the training program and for evaluation of ICF/IID care
3
4 aides.

5 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
