6 AS INTRODUCED
7 An Act relating to public libraries; authorizing the
Oklahoma Department of Libraries Board to utilize
8 funds for certain relocation, remodeling, and
construction projects; establishing maximum limit for
9 amount of funds; providing for codification;
providing an effective date; and declaring an
10 emergency.

13 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
14 SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
15 in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 2-110 of Title 65, unless there
16 is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
17 A. The Oklahoma Department of Libraries Board shall utilize
18 funds appropriated by the Legislature for the purpose of funding
19 relocation, remodeling, and construction projects at buildings
20 maintained by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, specifically The
21 State Library known as the Allen Wright Memorial Library and the
22 State Record Center.

1 B. The appropriated funds for the relocation, remodeling, and
2 construction projects described in subsection A of this section
3 shall not exceed Twenty-seven Million Dollars ($27,000,000.00).
4 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.
5 SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
6 of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
7 declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
8 be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
