7 An Act relating to firearms; amending 63 O.S. 2021,
7 Section 4210.3, which relates to transporting or
8 discharging a weapon from a vessel; removing certain
8 unlawful transport; modifying fines; deleting
9 licensed authorization of legal transport; and
9 providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 63 O.S. 2021, Section 4210.3, is
13
14 amended to read as follows:
14
15 Section 4210.3. It shall be unlawful to transport a shotgun,
15
16 rifle or pistol in or to discharge such weapons a firearm from a
16
17 vessel, except for the purposes of self-defense, hunting animals or
17
18 fowl, and in compliance with existing state and federal laws.
18
19 Anyone violating the provisions of this section, upon conviction,
19
20 shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine of
20
21 not less than Fifty Dollars ($50.00) and not more than One Hundred
21
22 Dollars ($100.00), or by imprisonment in the county jail for not
22
23 less than ten (10) days and not more than six (6) three (3) months,
23
24 or by both such fine and imprisonment. Any person in possession of

1 a valid handgun license from this state or a reciprocal state

2 authorized by the Oklahoma Self-Defense Act shall not be deemed
2
3 guilty of transporting a pistol in violation of this section when a
3
4 handgun is carried concealed or unconcealed upon or about their
4
5 person in compliance with the provisions of the Oklahoma Self-
5
6 Defense Act.

7 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
