7 An Act relating to labor; amending 40 O.S. 2021,
7 Section 197.2, which relates to the Oklahoma Minimum
8 Wage Act; increasing minimum wage amount; providing
8 for additional increase over certain time period; and
9 providing an effective date.

12 BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:

13 SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 40 O.S. 2021, Section 197.2, is
13
14 amended to read as follows:
14
15 Section 197.2. It shall be unlawful to employ workers in any
15
16 industry or occupation within the State of Oklahoma this state under
16
17 conditions of labor detrimental to their health or morals and it
17
18 shall be unlawful to employ workers in any industry within the State
18
19 of Oklahoma this state at wages which are not adequate for their
19
20 maintenance. Except as otherwise provided in the Oklahoma Minimum
20
21 Wage Act, no employer within the State of Oklahoma employers of this
21
22 state shall pay any employee employees a wage of not less than
22
23 Twelve Dollars ($12.00) an hour with an increase of fifty cents
23
24 ($0.50) per year over a six-year period after the effective date of

1 this act or the current federal minimum wage, whichever is greater,

2 for all hours worked.

3 SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
