The House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio has adopted a resolution honoring the Union County Cougars basketball team for winning the 2026 Ohio Special Olympics Indoor Winter Games Division 5 Championship. The resolution commends the team for their dedication, teamwork, and the hard work they put into their training, which culminated in their victory over the Williams County Sharks with a close score of 34-33. The athletes, including Austin Cunningham, Chase Gibson, and others, have shown remarkable energy and enthusiasm under the guidance of coaches Zach Noland and Eric Bodine.

In addition to celebrating their championship win, the resolution highlights the valuable life lessons the players have learned through their participation in sports, such as hard work and good sportsmanship.
