The bill proposes the creation of the "Ohio, The Heart of It All" pass program, which will be administered by TourismOhio. The program aims to promote the state's diverse attractions, including artistic, cultural, historical, educational, recreational, film, and museum offerings. Starting in 2027, the pass will be available for purchase at a price set by TourismOhio, with discounted rates for Ohio residents. Revenue generated from the pass will be deposited into a newly established fund, the Ohio, The Heart of It All pass fund, which will support tourism promotion and cover administrative expenses.
Additionally, the bill allows organizations contributing to Ohio's tourism economy to apply to become TourismOhio partners, offering various benefits to pass holders. TourismOhio will monitor compliance with the program and can cancel agreements with partners that do not adhere to the established guidelines. In a special provision, the bill states that in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States, the pass will be available for free to any Ohio resident who applies, valid until 2027.
