The Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio has adopted a resolution honoring the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine (OU HCOM) on its Fiftieth Anniversary. Established in 1975, OU HCOM has significantly contributed to the medical field by training over five thousand physicians, with sixty percent choosing to practice in Ohio. The college has expanded its reach by opening additional campuses in Dublin and Cleveland and enhancing its Community Health Programs across more than twenty counties, solidifying its status as Ohio's largest producer of primary care physicians.

The resolution acknowledges the vital role that medical colleges play in advancing health, research, and compassionate care, and expresses confidence in OU HCOM's continued commitment to developing skilled and community-focused osteopathic physicians. The Senate commends the college for its achievements and dedication to education, which is essential for the nation's economic and social well-being. The resolution concludes with a wish for the college's ongoing success and directs the Clerk of the Senate to provide an authenticated copy of the resolution to OU HCOM.
