The House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio has adopted a resolution recognizing November 2025 as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) Awareness Month. CRPS, also known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy, is a nerve disorder that causes chronic and severe pain, typically in a limb, which is often disproportionate to the initial injury or event. The resolution aims to raise awareness about this condition, promote ongoing research, and highlight the importance of early treatment options that can alleviate symptoms. The first Monday of November is designated as Color the World Orange Day to further emphasize awareness efforts.

The resolution acknowledges the various symptoms associated with CRPS, including changes in skin temperature, hair or nail growth, and extreme sensitivity to stimuli. While there is currently no cure for CRPS, individuals can experience gradual improvement, and public understanding and support are crucial for enhancing the quality of life for those affected, as well as their families and caregivers. The resolution calls for the dissemination of this recognition to the media in Ohio to foster greater awareness and support for those living with CRPS.
