The House of Representatives of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio has adopted a resolution honoring Tallmadge Church on the occasion of its Two Hundredth Anniversary. Originally built in 1825 by Lemuel Porter, the church is a notable Federal-style structure featuring a prominent portico and steeple. After the congregation moved to a new location in 1969, the building was donated to the Ohio History Connection in 1971 and is now managed by the City of Tallmadge, which utilizes it for various community events, including weddings.

The resolution acknowledges the dedication and efforts of those who have maintained and preserved Tallmadge Church, highlighting its significant role in enhancing the local cultural heritage and quality of life in the community. The members of the House express their congratulations and best wishes for the future of the church, ensuring that it will continue to serve as a historical landmark for years to come. A copy of the resolution will be officially transmitted to Tallmadge Church.
