The bill establishes the Ohio Task Force on Gun Violence, which will consist of various members including state officials, legislators, and community representatives focused on reducing gun violence. The Task Force will include the Governor or their designee, the Attorney General or their designee, the Executive Director of the Commission on Minority Health or their designee, the Director of Children and Youth or their designee, the Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court or their designee, three members from the House of Representatives, three members from the Senate, and two community members dedicated to reducing gun violence. The Task Force is required to meet at least monthly and will select a chairperson or co-chairpersons within thirty days of its formation.

The Task Force's responsibilities include examining the prevalence of gun violence in Ohio, evaluating existing evidence-based programs, identifying best practices for violence reduction, exploring community revitalization efforts, proposing criminal justice solutions, and addressing social determinants of health that affect gun violence victims. Within one year of its establishment, the Task Force must prepare a report detailing its findings and recommendations, which will be submitted to the General Assembly. Following the submission of this report, the Task Force will be dissolved.
