The bill amends section 307.66 of the Revised Code to increase the maximum amount that a county may provide to military and veterans organizations for Memorial Day expenses from five hundred dollars to one thousand dollars. This funding is available to various recognized and chartered veterans' organizations upon their request, and they must apply for the funds no more than one hundred twenty days prior to Memorial Day. Organizations receiving these funds are required to submit a statement of expenses and account for the complete expenditures within sixty days after Memorial Day.

Additionally, the bill allows for joint applications from multiple veterans' organizations to pool their entitlements to funds. It also outlines the responsibilities of township trustees and municipal corporations in appropriating funds for Memorial Day observances. If certain posts are unable to participate, the appropriations can be redirected to other civic or patriotic organizations willing to undertake the commemoration. The existing section 307.66 of the Revised Code is repealed to facilitate these changes.
