The Future Educators Support Act aims to enhance financial support for student teachers and address staffing needs within Ohio's education system. The bill introduces several new sections to the Revised Code, including the establishment of an annual online staffing survey by the Department of Education and Workforce, which will collect data on various educational positions, including vacancies and the qualifications of those filling them. This survey will be completed by local school district superintendents and will inform an annual report to the General Assembly and the Department of Higher Education, aiding in the oversight and development of educator preparation programs.

Additionally, the bill allows public school districts to provide financial incentives to student teachers, such as a cost-of-living stipend and health care benefits, while also permitting state institutions of higher education to waive tuition for student teachers during their required teaching period. Furthermore, the Department of Job and Family Services is tasked with updating the list of in-demand jobs to include teaching positions, thereby recognizing the critical need for educators in the state.
