The bill proposes the establishment of the Ohio Israel Trade and Innovation Partnership, as outlined in the newly enacted section 122.1712 of the Revised Code. This partnership aims to explore and enhance various aspects of collaboration between Ohio and Israel, including bilateral trade and investment, policy issues of mutual interest, business and academic exchanges, and mutual economic support. Additionally, it will focus on specific industries and emerging technology opportunities, as well as fostering multilateral partnerships with other nations.

The partnership will consist of members appointed from both the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as individuals representing higher education, business interests, and nonprofit organizations related to Israeli affairs. Members will serve varying terms, with legislative appointees serving two years and other appointees serving four years. The partnership is required to meet regularly, elect a chairperson, and report its activities and recommendations annually to state leadership. Members will serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for expenses incurred in their duties.
