A RESOLUTION
In memory of Dan Ramos.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio extend our heartfelt condolences to the 2
family and friends of Dan Ramos in their bereavement; and 3
WHEREAS, Although there are no words to ease the sadness now 4
felt, surely there is solace in the remembrance of having been touched 5
by such a remarkable person as Dan Ramos. The warmth of his 6
personality made a lasting impact on his family, friends, and 7
community, and the love, compassion, and understanding he gladly 8
extended to those around him will long remain in the hearts and minds 9
of many; and 10
WHEREAS, Dan Ramos’ zealous love of life and his selfless concern 11
for the welfare of others distinguished him as an outstanding human 12

being and as a leading citizen. Commencing his political career as a 13
volunteer with his father’s campaigns for the Lorain Board of 14
Education, he set his sights on the Ohio House of Representatives, and 15
he served as a page, an aide to State Representative Joe Koziura, and 16
a policy analysist for Speaker Armond Budish before being elected as a 17
representative, a post he held from 2011 to 2018. In 2013, he was 18
named assistant minority whip by his fellow Democrats in the House, 19
becoming the first Latino to hold a state legislative leadership 20
position in either caucus. Without a doubt, his tremendous efforts 21
serve as an inspiration for others; and 22
WHEREAS, A caring friend to all, Dan Ramos was infinitely 23
endearing, and his effortless initiatives to enrich the lives of those 24
around him will forever be his legacy. He led an exemplary life, 25
manifesting those virtues we all seek to emulate, and his generosity, 26
talents, and seemingly inexhaustible energy are a pleasure to recall; 27
therefore be it 28
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 29
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay 30
tribute to the memory of an exceptionally honorable man, Dan Ramos; 31
and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family of Dan 34
Ramos. 35
