                      In memory of Marigene Valiquette.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio extend our deepest regrets on the passing of 2

WHEREAS, Marigene Valiquette has improved the State of Ohio 4
through her indelible contributions to the public, and she left a 5
lasting impression as a dependable voice for Ohioans. A trailblazing 6
force not only for her generation but also for many to come, she 7
accomplished more in her professional endeavors and her leadership in 8
the Ohio General Assembly, which lasted from 1962 through 1986, than 9
most people do in a lifetime. The six years she spent in the Ohio 10
House of Representatives and the eighteen years serving in the Ohio 11
Senate made her the longest-serving woman in our state’s legislature, 12

her legacy. As a result of her dedication to public service, she 19
